Choosing a Hearing Aid
With the help of our sister company, Janning Hearing Center, our audiologist will be able to help you determine the right hearing aid for your lifestyle, preferences and budget. We fit and dispense hearing aids through Janning Hearing Center as a durable medical equipment group. The good news? It falls within the same building as Janning ENT Center – with the same staff!
There are many different types of hearing aids available. From in the canal to behind the ear, our team can help you find the right hearing aid to fit all of your needs. And with today’s technology, hearing aids are now smaller and more discrete.
There are two types of hearing aid technology to choose from: analog and digital. Analog units us a frequency based on your audiogram. Sounds are then amplified in the same manner. Digital units use digitized sound processing to convert sound waves into digital signals. A computer chip determines whether the signals are speech or noise and converts them into clear, amplified signals.
The price of your hearing aid will depend on which type and technology you choose. Remember that a higher-priced device may fit all of your needs better than one of lesser value. Contact our team for pricing. We also have financing options available if you go with a unit outside your initial budget.
Even with the help of insurance, you may still have to pay more than you’d like for your hearing aid. At Janning ENT Center, we want to help, and that is why we offer flexible, convenient financing options with no annual fees, interest-free promotions affordable monthly payments, and more. We also offer CareCredit® plans.
Counseling & Fitting
Once you receive your hearing aid, learning how to use it correctly is very important. The team at Janning ENT Center will walk you through everything you need to know about this lifestyle change. Fitting your hearing aid to your ear is also essential. Our experts will fit the device perfectly so you can get the most out of your device.
Many hearing aids use disposable batteries that are color- and number-coded to make them easily replaceable. The type of battery needed depends on the style and size of your hearing aids. Purchase new batteries from your audiologist at Janning ENT Center or find them at your local drugstore. Rechargeable batteries are also available.
Regular maintenance can help keep your hearing aids in good condition. If your hearing aids are under warranty and purchased through Janning ENT Center, service and repairs may come at no cost to you. If your current hearing aids are more than five years old, consider an upgrade.
